Tourisme Montréal

Consider this as your invitation to become a citizen of Fun Nation, a dynamic new cultural player in Montréal. Fun Nation, as the name suggests, aspires to assemble a diverse nation of performance and entertainment fans. To that end, they’re putting “fun” at the heart of their more than 300 comedy, theatre, variety show and music experiences in the city’s storied Quartier Latin neighbourhood by adding a host of added perks and benefits.

Performance passion in the Quartier Latin

Fun Nation adds an extra layer of vitality to the Quartier Latin, a distinct neighbourhood within an already distinct city. One of the liveliest quartiers in the city, the Quartier Latin occupies an advantageous centre point between the downtown core, The Village, the Plateau-Mont-Royal and Old Montréal.

The Quartier Latin’s historic theatres, year-round festivals, vibrant nightlife, bustling cafés, live music clubs and outdoor terraces build on its charm, making it a must-visit destination for those seeking an authentic Montréal experience. If you want to live Montréal like a Montrealer, Fun Nation is uniquely positioned to provide exactly that.

A plethora of programming for all

Fun Nation’s year-round programming provides a wealth of opportunities for both Montrealers and visitors alike to immerse themselves in French culture, featuring artists such as Dominic Paquet, Mariana Mazza, Mona de Grenoble, Patrice L’Ecuyer, and Maude Landry. While most performances are in French, there are also a number of shows that will be interesting regardless of your linguistic background or abilities. Among them are the following:

  • Les années tranquilles: The seven musicians of Les Gars du Nord deliver a captivating show that blends Acadian country and traditional Celtic music. Their songs bring generations together and remind us that, no matter where we live, “we all have a little bit of the North in us.”
  • Supertramp Memories: Since 2002, Supertramp Memories has been performing to enthusiastic crowds across Québec and Canada, entertaining Supertramp fans with their meticulous and energetic renditions of the group’s greatest hits.
  • 15 ans de Reflux: Celebrate 15 years of sky-high heels and sheer absurdity with Rainbow. Relive iconic moments from her career and enjoy a one-of-a-kind party in the company of a true drag legend as well as special guests.
  • Génération MusiquePlus: To celebrate its 40th anniversary, the TV phenomenon MusiquePlus is back… on stage. Relive the golden age with the show, from ’86-’96, featuring the best music videos, interviews and behind-the-scenes stories from that decade along with live musicians.

Fun Nation inhabits many of Montréal’s best venues

Several of Montréal’s most noteworthy venues are the setting for Fun Nation’s offerings, combining history with state-of-the-art live-performance technology. The following are a sampling:

  • Monument National: Opened in 1893 and constructed in an eclectic Renaissance style, this national historic site has been a hub for theatre, political action and education, and has played a major role in the promotion of French language and culture.
  • Club Soda: Custom-designed by renowned Montréal architect Luc Laporte, and located in what was once the epicentre of the city’s redlight district, Club Soda is a staple of major festivals and international touring artists.
  • Espace St-Denis: Situated on St-Denis Street downtown, it’s an entertainment and gastronomy complex housing two performance halls, including Théâtre St-Denis, a pillar of Québec culture with over 100 years of history.
  • L’Olympia: Built in 1925 for moviegoers, its years devoted to the cinematic arts give it an incredibly unique visual character. It has evolved to become one of Montréal’s crown jewels for live music, comedy and more.
  • Salle Pierre-Mercure: Initially designed for concert music and dance, this venue has blossomed into a dynamic cultural hub, hosting everything from classical and jazz to musical theatre and stand-up.
  • Le National: Opened in 1900 as Montreal’s first professional Francophone theatre, this historic landmark has transformed from a burlesque hotspot—once led by the legendary Rose Ouellette—into a premier concert hall. Today, it hosts a high-energy mix of international pop stars and local icons, remaining a cornerstone of the city’s cultural scene.

A complete experience that isn’t wholly centred on the stage

At its heart, Fun Nation’s aim is to transform a night out at a show into a complete cultural experience. Beyond the stage, outings may include dinners at partner restaurants in the Quarter Latin, VIP access, meet-and-greets with artists, parking, and surprises and perks for audience members. The goal is to take what might otherwise be a straightforward evening and turn it into a highly memorable event designed to maximize your enjoyment, Montréal style.

Fun Nation also offers special packages that encourage audiences to make new discoveries. Multi-show passes provide significant discounts (up to 40%), while Club Nation membership grants access to perks such as presales, seat upgrades and exclusive benefits.

By bringing together a community of enthusiasts and focusing on an accessible approach to culture, Fun Nation is extending an invitation to experience the richness and rhythm of the city in a new, and assuredly fun, way.
