The American Revolution in Québec - Our March Toward Democracy
Festivals and events Old Montréal
“The American Revolution in Québec” explores the events that unfolded in Canada during the American Revolution and traces Québec’s path toward democracy. Presented at the Château Ramezay, which served as the Continental Army’s headquarters in 1775 and 1776, the exhibition follows key moments from the fall of New France to the provincial reforms championed by Honoré Mercier. Through figures such as Benjamin Franklin and pivotal events including the Patriote Rebellions, it highlights the political struggles, debates, and aspirations that helped shape the road to Confederation in 1867.
