The greatest food truck and street food event, “First Fridays,” is back at the Olympic Park this summer for its 10th anniversary edition. Over 40 restaurants and food vendors will be serving up summertime classics and local signature dishes.

The official-unofficial start to the summer is here! The biggest food truck and street food event in the entire country is back and better than ever! The 10th edition of First Fridays kicks off on June 3 at the Olympic Park Esplanade, and admission is free.

On the first Friday of every month of the season, enjoy an evening filled with delicious food from various food trucks and restaurant stalls, as well as a fun-filled program of music, dance and activities for the entire family.

La Rue Culturelle: a new concept for the 10th anniversary

New this year is La Rue Culturelle, the “cultural street,” a special area reserved for the month’s cuisine theme. Starting with Mexican food on June 3, Maria Chavez and Hector Veladiz, owners of Restaurant Maria Bonita (an authentic Mexican restaurant on Saint-Laurent Boulevard that has been open for over 20 years) will be the first guests of honour.

They’ll be joined by Ariz5 Restaurant, Mad Mexican, Arriba burrito, Calaveras, Mi Corazon, MASA, Andros El Tacos, Lili and Gordo, who will offer some of the best dishes Mexican cuisine has to offer.

Added to these will be over 40 restaurants and food vendors ready to delight us with their savory or sweet specialties. Among these are Dburger Mobile, Pigeon Café, Le Shake Shop, Boîte à homard, Armandos BBQ, Camion Gelato, Crémy, Sombrero Pizza, Paella Marisol, Mignon Nougat & Churros and Mateina Yerba Mate.

Québec specialties

Another new feature of the 2022 edition of First Fridays: a “100% Québec” space featuring local restaurants, a new Cuisine Libre trailer managed by Chef Clément Boivin of La cabane d’à côté by Pied de Cochon, local farms, a Distillerie Montréal stand and a VIP space.

After the food, we dance!

Musical entertainment will be rocking our evenings at food heaven. Throughout the season, a DJ Truck and giant stereo will feature special guests such as GabWan, John Truth, Dr Stein, Papish, Yuyu, as well as Jay Sea and DJ Savaney.

Cheers to summer!

A cocktail truck and two beer bars will be serving thirst-quenching drinks, perfect for a warm summer evening at the Olympic Park Esplanade.

Happy First Fridays!
