Take home more than just library books from the Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec (BAnQ) national archives and public library: the fabulous Boutique BAnQ showcases a wide array of Made in Québec goods inspired by iconic heritage moments.
Located in the hall of the Grande Bibliothèque, the Boutique BAnQ shelves are lined with fine and everyday items celebrating vibrant symbols of Québec’s history and heritage, including gourmet products, designer maps, home décor objects, whimsical kitchenware and various wearables. Prices range from $5 to $50, with the exception of some more luxurious items.
A tumbler displaying Jeanne Mance’s will, a placemat showcasing the mythical chasse-galerie flying canoe, a pillow depicting a picturesque scene of Québec in the 1920s: renowned designer Jean-Claude Poitras pulled from the archives to develop the boutique’s collection, drawing inspiration from centuries of rich history.
In addition to affording a designer glimpse into the BAnQ’s vast archives and heritage collections, the boutique offers a wealth of choice when it comes to unique souvenirs or gifts for friends…or even yourself!
