Cleverly disguised as an industrial heritage jewel, New City Gas is, in fact, a happening event venue known for hosting DJs from all over the world. Located in the heart of Griffintown, this 1859 heritage building is now one of the hottest spots in town.
On the outside, the brick façade is a throwback to its factory days of transforming coal into gas for lighting Montréal’s streets and buildings. On the inside, New City Gas now boasts a state-of-the-art sound and lighting experience with original vintage and historical elements thrown in for good measure.
Given its outstanding lineup of EDM, DJ sets, Dubstep, Psytrance, Rap, Hip Hop shows and more, there’s no surprise that New City Gas was ranked as Canada’s #1 venue, for two years in a row, in DJ Mag’s annual Top 100 clubs poll.
Combining industrial chic with high-tech cool, this multifunctional event venue encompasses over 40,000 square feet on two floors and caters to over 3,000 people each week. Suffice it to say, New City Gas lights up Montréal’s nightlife scene.
