Christopher Varady-Szabo - Après la pluie, la boue
Festivals and events Old Montréal
“Après la pluie, la boue” unfolds in the Grande salle, where Christopher Varady-Szabo presents a monumental installation composed of organic materials including wood, earth, branches, water, and straw. Inspired by earthen building traditions such as wattle and daub and cob construction, the work brings together imposing minimalist forms inhabited by living bodies in transformation. The installation invites reflection on the relationship between shelter and living organisms, fundamental principles of human survival, and the act of building by hand. It also explores hybrid forms, ecological fragility, and the evolving poetry of the living world.
