Sometimes we need to allocate a couple hours each day to work commitments, even when we’re on vacation. Fret not: Montréal has options for getting work done, spaces that are not just functional but downright stunning.

Whether you’re a local or a visitor, these coworking spaces provide the perfect backdrops to focus on the task at hand.

Crew Collective & Café

360 Saint-Jacques Street  | Website

Named as the most beautiful co-working space in the world by Forbes Magazine, this former Royal Bank of Canada head office in Old Montréal features 15-metre ceilings that soar over tables and private meeting spaces for rent. Snacks and café fare are available either at the counter or via the website and brought directly to the table. There are also Crew Labs spaces on upper floors for teams of 6 to 18 people, available for both short-term and long-term rental periods.

Anticafé

294 Sainte-Catherine Street West | Website

An intriguing co-working space idea based on time-based model, the Anticafé charges a nominal hourly fee, including all the coffee, tea, and biscuits you could want. With 4000 square feet, 12 private rooms, and 45 individual workstations, Anticafé has plenty of space to work side-by-side or from a comfortable distance. Monday through Friday, 10am – 8pm.

Notman House

51 Sherbrooke Street West | Website

An important hub for digital start-ups and trendsetting entrepreneurs in Montréal, the Notman House blends history and innovation with some great office spaces for rent, great for longer staying guests. Just popping in and out for some laptop work between conference speakers? The Notman House’s café OSMO offers a full gamut of espresso-based drinks, free Wi-Fi, and ideal people watching.

Ilots d'été

Directly translated, “Ilots d'été” simply means “summer islets.” Essentially, they are shared workspaces located outdoors. This means that green desking is now available — for free — across the city. The network includes 40 spaces strategically positioned throughout Montréal, each offering Wi-Fi, electricity, shade from the sun, and seating. Summer months only!

Montréal CoWork

4388 St-Denis Street | Website

Based in the Plateau Mont-Royal neighbourhood, Montréal Cowork offers space ranging from solitary stations to room for 10 team members. There’s also an admirable focus on facilitating the integration of newly landed immigrant entrepreneurs — an exciting and unique networking opportunity for visitors to the city.

Fabrik8

7236 and 7240 Waverly Street | Website

Fabrik8 pushes the experience of coworking and tenants in its Mile-Ex complex by incorporating all the facilities under one roof! Gym, café, lounge, rooftop terrace and of course a ice rink in winter and basketball court in summer directly on the roof for the tenants to enjoy!

La Piscine

914, Notre-Dame Street West #201 | Website

Appointed with stylish furniture, a fully equipped kitchen and unlimited free tea and coffee, it’s no wonder so many workers are taking the plunge. La Piscine is an airy, bright space in buzzy Griffintown that’s great for short-term or occasional workspace. Cycle there, park in the bike garage and enjoy the convenience of showers on the premises — and if you’re looking to throw a party for your team, consider the rooftop terrasse.

Walter

# 500 - 85, Saint-Paul Street West | Website

“Walter” is an abbreviation of “work alternatively.” (Clever!) The France-based company has offices in such cities as Lyon and Bordeaux — and now they’re in Montréal. With modern and inspiring workspaces, Walter is an ideal place for entrepreneurs and content mavens looking to log some productive hours. The “poste à la journée” (currently $35) allows access of the coworking space for a full day. They also feature event spaces and a café.

Entrepôts Dominion

3970 Saint-Ambroise Street | Website

In the Saint-Henri neighbourhood, Entrepôts Dominion offers an inspiring coworking space with handsome exposed brick walls, high ceilings, and soundproof work booths. Members have access to a gym, a beautiful terrace, and—in the summer months—a pool. Plus, get preferential rates on meeting rooms for group meeting and events. Click around their virtual tour, and then inquire about the one-day free trial.

Loft LPD

290 de la Montagne Street | Website

From the folks who brought you some of Montréal’s cutest cafes (four locations called “Le Petit Dep”) comes a coworking space designed to inspire creativity, stimulate the exchange of ideas, and connect the local community of professionals. The space can also be privatized on request. Free every day of the week from 8am to 8pm.

PARTOUT chez nous

Various locations | Website

Like Airbnb for the remote working crowd, PARTOUT chez nous enables you to enjoy a change of scenery through certified, inspiring locations ideal for remote working. Guests can reserve spaces for as long as they need, from a peaceful afternoon away (perfect for business meetings!) to longer term stays that make workers feel right at home, all across the province of Québec.

MT Lab

141, avenue du Président-Kennedy, 7th floor | Website

MT Lab is North America’s first startup incubator dedicated to the intersection of tourism, culture, and entertainment. It’s a place where innovation is key — and they’ve recently opened their office spaces to welcome digital nomads. Located in the heart of Montréal’s entertainment district (Quartier de Spectacles), the office offers a dynamic and welcoming coworking space with a magnificent view of the city. It’s the type of place where innovation and networking come to life. Membership benefits include a dedicated workspace, 24/7 access, high speed Wi-Fi, access to meeting rooms, and much more.
