Wonderful Joe

“Wonderful Joe” follows Joe and his loyal dog Mister as they lose their home and face separation, setting out on a final journey through a fractured world Joe insists on seeing as whole. Along the way, the ordinary and the mythical collide as they encounter figures such as Mother Nature, Santa Claus, Jesus, and the Tooth Fairy, alongside a group of unhoused companions who build theatre from cardboard and memory. Both epic and intimate, the work blends finely crafted puppetry and uncompromising storytelling. Performed solo by Ronnie Burkett and accompanied by John Alcorn’s evocative original music, this deeply human piece explores resilience, companionship, and the quiet power of imagination.
