Every February since 1997, Les amis de la montagne has invited outdoor enthusiasts and mountain lovers to show their support for their environmental conservation programs by attending this exceptional benefit event on Mount Royal.
Inspired by 19th century snowshoeing up the mountain, the Tuques Bleues Celebration features a moonlight race or walk on snowshoes followed by festivities at the Mount Royal Chalet.
While the more competitive take part in a timed race to win top medals and the coveted Tuques Bleues trophy, others choose to snowshoe at their own pace along lantern-illuminated trails, thus reliving the evening treks up Mount Royal made famous by the Montreal Snowshoe Club in the 1840s.
Participants are invited to mobilize friends, families and colleagues by participating in peer-to-peer fundraising.
