Sibelius: Coming Full Circle

The OM concludes its journey through Sibelius’s work with a performance of the Finnish composer’s last two symphonies in its concert "Sibelius: Coming Full Circle." Yannick Nézet-Séguin and OM musicians have explored Sibelius’s musical landscapes and forged a profound connection with his universe. This concert offers an opportunity to reflect on Sibelius’s legacy and influence on the language of symphonic music. This all-Sibelius program is crowned by his most renowned and frequently performed piece, the Violin Concerto, brought to life by the virtuoso Lisa Batiashvili. A long-time collaborator and friend of Yannick Nézet-Séguin, the violinist will make her Orchestre Métropolitain debut at this concert.
