Festivals and events Downtown

“Pride and Joy” highlights the printmaking practice of Mary Paningajak in her home community of Ivujivik. Through a series of intimate works, the exhibition explores the interconnected relationships between people, animals, plants, and the land in Nunavik. Wildflowers, fungi, marine life, and the results of a successful harvest reveal how cooperation and coexistence support life in the Arctic. Mary Paningajak’s art offers insight into Inuit perspectives on reciprocity, ecological balance, and the enduring connections that sustain northern communities.
