MÁM by Teaċ Daṁsa
Festivals and events
From the very first minutes, “MÁM” transports audiences into a world shaped by mountains, wind, and shared traditions. Rooted in the landscapes of Ireland’s Dingle Peninsula, where language and legend remain present, the work draws on the image of a mountain pass as a threshold to the unknown. Traditional Irish dance meets contemporary movement in a ceremonial setting seen through the eyes of a young girl. Around a dozen performers share the stage with seven musicians from the Berlin-based ensemble s t a r g a z e, led by concertina player Cormac Begley. Youth and age, past and future intersect as music drives the dance forward.
