LABOUR by Emily Gualtieri and David Albert-Toth
Festivals and events Downtown
“LABOUR” brings five women performers together in a raw, visceral work shaped by minimalist physicality, offbeat humour and vulnerability. Driven by unstable rhythms, the piece explores women’s invisible labour and the forces of care, endurance and collective strength that build, transform and repair. The body becomes a site of metamorphosis, reflecting fragmented realities of the contemporary world. Rejecting aesthetic restraint, the work draws on a plurality of women’s experiences to imagine a form of power that is both intimate and collective.
