Every summer, the Just for Laughs Festival tickles the city into a laughing frenzy.
Considered the king of comedy festivals, the Just for Laughs is a mecca for the most riotous, side-splitting and madcap comedians from around the globe.
Millions of spectators worldwide come to this Montréal summer must-see, which gives humour top honours during comedy shows, street theatre, films and plays as well as Broadway-style musicals. Its wildly popular gala evenings feature some of the world’s biggest names in comedy delivering their razor-sharp-wit unique way of seeing the world to rapt audiences.
While it started out a francophone comedy street festival, the JFL gained traction with Montréal’s anglophone community, then English Canada and the United States. Today it continues to enjoy unprecedented appeal, with a program that includes a major street arts festival and more than 1,000 different comedy acts to choose from.
The 2019 line-up will feature its fair share of comic luminaries including Trevor Noah (The Daily Show), Wanda Sykes (black•ish), Howie Mandel (America’s Got Talent) and Rachel Bloom (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend). Don’t miss this chance to chuckle.
