Annually in February
Art, light and technology combine in immersive creations installed under a mercurial winter sky in Montréal's Quartier des spectacles. The annual array of innovative works by local and international artists confirms the status of festival MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE as a creative laboratory and showcase, part of an international circuit of creative events dedicated to the theme of light.
Among the 2019 programming, see:
- HUB Studio's Pulpe, a new perspective on gastronomy as seen through video micro-mapping inspired by macrophotography of food, and Influx, a light sculpture of Montréal neighbourhoods, created from data visualization of the BIXI bike network;
- Cyrielle Tremblay's Probabilités de Neige = 100%, an architectural projection circuit of humorous animated illustrations highlighting the joys of winter in the city;
- Ocubo's Urban Poetry, a 3D video mapping project that plays with amalgamating nature's wildness with the concrete urban world;
- Serge Maheu's Cycle, an interactive bench made of two fluctuating circles of light, inspired by the Saros cycle of Solar and Lunar eclipses;
