From the Hands of the Masters II: From Parmigianino to Matisse
April 10 to August 12, 2018
In this second exhibition of drawings from a Montréal private collection, the successor to the 2013 exhibition, parameters were expanded to include works spanning the 16th century in Italy to the 20th century in France, as well as non-European art.
Founded in 1860 as the Art Association of Montreal by a group of Montreal art collectors and patrons, the Montréal Museum of Fine Arts (MMFA) was one of the first museums in North America to build up an encyclopedic collection worthy of the name. It now numbers over 43,000 works from Antiquity to today, making it unique in Canada.
