EXPLORING ANCIENT LIVES

September 14, 2019 to February 2, 2020

Downtown - Golden Square Mile

Non-invasive CT scans have enabled archeologists and researchers to build a profile of each individual, painting the portrait of who they were. Age, beliefs and medical history.

Over 200 objects from the British Museum’s renowned Egyptian collection, five coffins and six mummies retrace the material, symbolic and biological life of each individual through the cross investigations of archeology and science, using the latest technologies.

Digital visualizations will present new discoveries that provide unique insights into how people lived and died in ancient Egypt. The exhibition will explore a number of themes such as daily life and beliefs, mummification, health, food and diet, music, adornment, social status, women and childhood in ancient Egypt.
