First performed in Yiddish in 1992 to great acclaim, "Di Shvegerins" is an iconic translation of one of Quebec’s most celebrated plays – Michel Tremblay’s groundbreaking "Les Belles-sœurs". Now, in its 60th anniversary year, the story of Germaine Lauzon and her lively stamping party once again captures the humour, struggles, and resilience of working-class women in 1960s Montreal. Hilarious, heartfelt, and bold, Di Shvegerins is a powerful celebration of language, culture, and sisterhood that continues to resonate today.
