Visual arts and design
Downtown - Golden Square Mile

This first complete retrospective in Canada of the work of a child prodigy who became one of the 20th century’s greatest artists features over 100 works and extensive documentary material revealing how Calder’s mindset as an inventor was fundamental to his creativity. The exhibition explores an exciting new reading of the American artist’s output and his contribution to the history of art.

The event has a particular resonance in Montréal, where the artist’s Expo 67 commission, Man, remains an iconic landmark in Parc Jean-Drapeau.
