Proud to be a Northern city, Montréal offers a wide array of outdoor activities to get the most out of winter and sliding is definitely a favourite among young and old alike.
What better for rosy cheeks and fresh air than to slide downhill on a tube, toboggan or saucer! Fun and free (most of the time), this activity takes place in many of the city’s public parks, some of which are within easy reach of the metro and even offer rental toboggans or crazy carpets.
Grab your sled and head to Mount Royal, Angrignon Park, Maisonneuve Park, the Parc-nature de l’Île-de-la-Visitation and the Parc-nature du Cap-Saint-Jacques. Enjoy their enchanting setting and warm up in a lively chalet! Slide to your heart’s content right in the city at the Pente à neige in Ignace-Bourget Park or in the Old Port on Voiles en Voiles' runs of artificial snow. Thrills guaranteed!
Festivals are also a great place to slide: Fête des neiges (Montréal Snow Festival) in Parc Jean-Drapeau with a spectacular view of the city; the BARBEGAZI winter action sports festival in the Olympic Park; and MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE with its 110-metre urban slide zooming through downtown. No excuse to not go play outside!
Enjoy the best of Montréal
