Biodôme de Montréal – Space for Life
Not much longer now: the Biodôme is set to reopen during Spring 2020!
Home to over 4,500 animals representing 250 different species and some 500 plant species, the Biodôme, or «house of life», is the world’s only museum to replicate the complexity of four different ecosystems – Tropical Rainforest of the Americas, Laurentian Maple Forest, Sub-Polar Regions and the Gulf of Saint-Lawrence – under one roof.
From revamped scenic design of the habitats to stimulating new experiences, the Biodôme offers now, more than ever, a totally immersive and moving sensorial experience designed to clearly illustrate the connections between nature and mankind.
Explore a network of passages and walkways leading right to the heart of the ecosystems. Enjoy a bird’s eye view of three ecosystems and admire the beauty of the building from the new mezzanine.
Gaze through the Ice Wall separating Arctica from Antarctica (different hemispheres, different ecosystems, both cold) for a better view of penguins and auks.
Curious about what happens behind the scenes? Head to the mezzanine to check out unique experiences designed by the Montréal Space for Life museology staff to show the challenges they face everyday.
Get ready for an extraordinary experience of discovery at the Biodôme!
