Atwater Market

Housed in an Art Deco-style building bordering the Lachine Canal that is considered one of Montréal’s architectural gems, the Atwater Market has been in operation since 1933. Food lovers come for its butcher shops, fishmonger, bakery, cheese shops, specialty grocers, and fruit, vegetable and flower stalls. In spring, horticultural growers move in, followed by market gardeners whose outdoor stands stay open until late fall. In summer, the "Pôle des saveurs" serves quick, flavourful food with influences from many cuisines. In winter, the market is enclosed so shoppers can browse comfortably, whatever the weather. Food tours, happy hours and craft beer tastings also take place on site.
