Ice skating and outdoor activities
This week's winter weather is perfect for all kinds of wonderful winter activities. At Olympic Park, check out Jardineries d'hiver, where you can play games of petanque and bowling, roast marshmallows, drink mulled wine and sip hot chocolate. You can even learn to snowboard and ski at the Pente à neige snow park, also featuring an impressive snow-tubing hill. For more winter outdoor adventures, spend time at Montréal's large nature parks, like Cap-Saint-Jacques and l’Île-de-la-Visitation, or take a day trip with Express du Nord, a coach service from downtown Montréal to Saint-Sauveur and Mont Tremblant in the Laurentian Mountains. And visit Québec wildlife at the conservation-focused Ecomuseum Zoo.
Indoor activities and sports
No matter what the weather, keep kids entertained with great indoor family activities – including all kinds of games at festival Montréal joue from February 22 to March 8 at Place des Festivals, the Grande Bibliothèque and other public libraries. Watch the pros on ice as the Montréal Canadiens play the Vancouver Canucks on February 25 and New York Rangers on February 27 at the Bell Centre and Major League Soccer team the Montréal Impact at the Olympic Stadium on February 26 and 29 – or catch all the games at Montréal sports bars with big screens.
