As spring turns into summer in Montréal this June, the city transforms too, with more outdoor events and entertainment, expanded pedestrian avenues and live art in the streets. By day or night, seek out unusual city sights and explore a different side of Montréal this month.

Colourful city sights

Starting June 21, MURAL Festival is also a sight to behold along Saint-Laurent Boulevard on side streets, as artists create incredible outdoor urban art all summer – the festival also hosts high-energy online concerts, artist talks and more digital goodness.

Summer street life

Every summer, Sainte-Catherine Street is transformed into a pedestrian corridor for festivals, artwork and socializing – this year may look a little different, but you can still spot art installations and more surprises along the main thoroughfare all season. Meanwhile, in the Plateau, Mont-Royal Avenue becomes a pedestrian-only street all summer too, with open-air terrasses, art and more. And while this year's Fête nationale du Québec grand spectacle concert won't be outdoors this June 24, you can watch the live show online while you barbecue and raise a glass to Québec's diverse culture.
