Two unique ways to enjoy the experience
True to its enduring commitment to revitalizing neighbourhoods and up-and-coming boroughs, the SOUK continues to evolve with spaces downtown at the heart of the “Grand Dame of Montréal”. Inaugurated in 1962, this architectural gem’s cruciform tower - the tallest of its kind in Canada (188 metres) – has lent it iconic status. For SOUK founder and creative director AZAMIT, this 18th edition is “an invitation to browse at your leisure and enjoy two distinct experiences at the heart of the same location.” Budding and devoted design lovers can wind their way through the SOUK MEZZANINE, chat with creators and hunt for beautiful wares then make their way up to the SOUK HABITAT, where they will be immersed in the exquisite interior of an modern apartment/boutique. With a 180 degree view of the city, the mountain, two bridges and the Olympic Stadium, its sublime concrete interior envelops guests in a warm and intimate ambiance as they enjoy an exclusive peek at the best of Montréal design. Prepare yourself for the ultimate SOUK experience.
A carefully curated jury
Montréal’s trend-setting aesthetes, SOUK fans and new taste makers can finally shop in person after this restrictive pandemic year. For this hotly-anticipated 2021 collection, AZAMIT surrounded herself with food, product and lifestyle photographer Virginie Gosselin, creators José-Manuel St-Jacques and Simon Bélanger behind the ATELIER UNTTLD brand, ceramic artist and designer Mie Kim, architects and designers Philip Staszewski & Gabrielle Rousseau and Catherine Métayer, VP Media and head writer at BESIDE. Together, they selected the crème de la crème of Montréal creativity, brought together in two unique and exclusive locations.
