MTLàTABLE 2017 special food events
Several gastronomic events take place every year within the MTLàTABLE celebrations and this year is no different. Those special events include neighbourhood food tours, local food tastings, dinner theatre, live music, wine events, Relaix & Châteaux experiences, chocolatey desserts and more. Below are the details.
Moments to savour
A good meal is even better in good company! As a proud partner of MTLàTABLE, Aeroplan members are invited to explore the flavors of Montreal's culinary scene by taking advantage of advance reservations, from Sept. 28 to Oct. 2, at MTLÀTABLE’s 175 participating restaurants. To make this culinary celebration even more memorable, Aeroplan members will also get exclusive privileges during MTLàTABLE, at select restaurants.
Discover some of Montréal’s best gourmet neighbourhood during MTLàTABLE by taking one of several guided culinary tours offered.
An evening stroll in Old Montréal presented by VDM Global
This guided walking tour brings you on a culinary voyage through Montreal’s most romantic and picturesque neighbourhood. Stroll through Old Montréal’s narrow cobblestone streets while getting a history lesson on the foundation of the city. The tour includes a glass of wine and an appetizer as well as a surprise tasting from one of the local shops. as well as several food tasting including local craft beer and Quebec cheese.
Montréal: Chocolate exploration presented by Tours de la table
Perhaps the only thing that could top eating chocolate would be to learn how to make it and that’s exactly what this tour offers. Learn the history of chocolate, from its pre-colonial beginnings to the latest bean-to-bar movement. This is a guided walking tour of the Plateau and Mile End neighbourhoods, where you’ll get to enjoy a savoury, chocolate-based meal, taste more than 9 chocolates and learn from experts such as chocolate makers, teachers and chefs.
Iconic dishes: Jewish Montréal, the original tour! Presented by Tours de la table
Why are some of Montréal’s most iconic gastronomic items such as bagels and smoked meat of Jewish origin? Learn about the history of classic Jewish cuisine in Montréal and its deep roots in the community. This guided walking tour includes 5 classic Jewish food establishments AND Exploration and history of the surrounding neighbourhoods.
Beyond the market presented by Spade & Palacio
Artisanal charcuteries and craft beers from local microbreweries are on the itinerary for this walking tour that will take you on a discovery of the neighbourhood around Montreal's largest public market.
Rosemont neighborhood craft beer tour presented by Montréal Craft Beer Tours
This tour is for the beer connoisseurs who will be able to taste 3 unique beers from three great Montréal-based microbreweries. Not into beer? No problem! Kombucha and hop tea will also be available. Go hungry since this tour also includes selected meals to accompany each beer.

Wine events presented by the SAQ
Several wine, spirits and bubbly activities are planned around MTLàTABLE, including the Salon des Vins d’Importation Privée and La Grande Dégustation de Montréal. Meet with the winegrowers, distillers and brewers and share their passion for wines, beers, spirits and local products. More details on these events will be available soon.
Relaix & Châteaux experience
MTLàTABLE celebrates the outstanding culinary achievements of restaurants Toqué! and Europea who are the only two Montreal establishments to proudly bear the distinguished Relaix et Châteaux label. The Relaix et Châteaux experience features $71 set menus created exclusively for MTLàTABLE by chefs Normand Laprise and Jérôme Ferrer.
A Grand Chef Relais & Châteaux and member of the Grandes Tables du Monde, Chef Normand Laprise is creating an exclusive multi-course menu for MTLàTABLE set in the elegant Toqué! dining room. This event, where the terroir is honoured, is a true showcase for Quebec's wine producers, cheese makers and other food industry artisans.

Chef Jérôme Ferrer of Europea is also a member of the Grandes Tables du Monde. He will be conceiving an exclusive 7-course menu featuring his market-fresh cuisine, a perfect fusion between the products of Quebec products and the cuisine of his native France.

Chocolatey desserts by Cacao Barry
Participating MTLàTABLE restaurants were invited to create a dessert using chocolate from Cacao Barry. The 15 most original recipes from that competition will be featured on the menu of the winning restaurants for you to enjoy during the festival.

Special restaurant events
