This year’s 4th edition of Le Mondial des cidres SAQ will take place March 2 – 4. The cider-centric event is partnering up once again with Montréal en lumière and will be a delicious, thirst-quenching part of their gastronomic offering.

Le Mondial des cidres SAQ’s mission is to highlight the know-how of local artisanal cider makers and to take amateurs and professionals alike on a journey to discover Québec’s wonderful world of apple cider in all its variations (sparkling, sweet, dry, ice, flavored, etc.). The event itself will be chock full of fun activities spread out across a multitude of stations:

La Grande Dégustation – Twenty cider producers will take clients on a discovery of cider in all its variations: fruity, dry, ice, sparkling, etc.

The ITHQ foodie station – Throughout the weekend, a team of teachers and students from ITHQ will create tapas that pair perfectly with the ciders.

The SAQ cocktail space – Sample cider-based cocktails.

The SAQ tasting stand – Partake in blind tastings, pairings and cocktails and discover cider-trends.

The Love and Tradition cheese area – Discover and taste cheeses from local cheese makers and their cider pairings.

The Desjardins sensory space – This particular space will take you on a sensory exploration with chef Suzy Rainville. Discover what her mystery ingredient is and win a prize!

Don’t miss out on some of the special events planned, namely Friday’s cider and mixology competition and Saturday’s flash tastings featuring 50 spots, 30 minutes and 3 products to discover as well as its festive evening plans for La nuit blanche. Sunday’s activities will include a live cooking demo by ITHQ’s students and teachers. The dishes they’ll create will highlight Quebec’s ciders. This event is first come, first serve with a capacity of 50 seats, so head there early!
