There’s so much to do this summer, from culture and food to fresh air fun and new neighbourhood discoveries – all while respecting public health measures, keeping our distances and wearing a face covering when required. With family or friends, on your own or with that special someone, fall in love all over again with our island jewel.
We’re jump starting summer in Montréal so come out and play!
Get that sun-kissed glow
After months of staying in and close to home, it’s going to feel good to stretch our legs and catch some rays. Grab your bike (or rent one) and explore a new neighbourhood on two wheels. Or pack your sunscreen and a beach towel and go for a swim. Feel the wind on your face on a river cruise, play a round of golf or fly over the Old Port on the MTL Zipline. Oh yeah, you’ll sleep well tonight.
Relax and reconnect with nature
Enjoy some quiet time in nature at one of Montréal’s many beautiful parks and greenspaces. Take some time to smell the roses at the Botanical Garden. Head west for a day trip to the Morgan Arboretum or the Ecomuseum Zoo. Or simply stroll the shady paths of Mount Royal and enjoy stunning views of the city. Take a deep breath and let it all go.
Let your imagination soar
Dive into culture and let the city inspire you. Check out everything from Post-Impressionist art to haute-couture fashion at this summer’s many must-see museum exhibitions. Soak up a colourful mix of outdoor urban art and virtual events all summer long with MURAL. Organize your own self-guided tour of Montréal’s many stunning works of public art. And watch out for new installations and pop-up performances all over the city. Stay tuned!
Indulge your taste buds
From food trucks in parks to gourmet culinary experiences, Montréal’s food scene is springing back to life. When temperatures heat up, cool off with ice cream, ice coffee or an ice-cold locally brewed beer, or grab some take-out and chill in the shade in your favourite park.
Get a summer makeover
Now that shopping centres, boutiques, spas and other personal services are reopening, you can refresh your wardrobe with local fashions or get that mani-pedi you’ve been craving. Guys can treat themselves to an old fashioned shave and a hair cut at a local barber shop. Looking good!
Discover a new neighbourhood with a guided tour
This is the best summer to learn more about a new neighbourhood and one of the best ways is with a guided tour. Follow the guides on foot, by bike or even on an electric scooter as you discover the history, culture, food and architecture unique to each district.
So now your only dilemma is, where to begin?
