Happening Gourmand

This year marks the twelfth edition of the Happening Gourmand, a yearly festive event celebrating great food in the heart of Old Montréal. From January 10 to February 3, 2019, food lovers can enjoy delectable and affordable table d’hôte menus at these nine establishments: BEVO Bar + Pizzeria, Taverne Gaspar, Kyo Bar Japonais, Méchant Boeuf Bar-Brasserie, Modavie, Brasserie 701, Verses Bistro, Vieux-Port Steakhouse and Maggie Oakes.

For three and a half weeks, these restaurants will all be offering three-course table d’hôte menus to please every taste and budget. Whether you prefer wood oven-baked pizza, Japanese cuisine or great grilled steaks, you will find a restaurant to satisfy your cravings. In fact, you have plenty of time to try all nine restaurants!

For the second time this year, Happening Gourmand will be adding brunch to its roster. Brunch lovers can enjoy a $17 menu at five of the participating restaurants. The brunch menus are as varied as the dinner menus and include hearty options such as chicken and waffles, pancakes with caramelized popcorn and slow-cooked beef rib steaks, as well as healthier options such as muesli and avocado toast.


Below is the break down of restaurants organized by menu:

$23 Menu: BEVO Bar + Pizzeria, Taverne Gaspar, Vieux-Port Steakhouse

$29 Menu: Modavie, Brasserie 701, Méchant Bœuf Bar-Brasserie, Maggie Oakes, Kyo Bar Japonais, Verses Bistro

$17 Brunch: Brasserie 701, Taverne Gaspar, Maggie Oakes, Méchant Bœuf Bar-Brasserie, Verses Bistro

Happening Gourmand is also offering several packages combining an activity with dinner at one of the nine participating restaurants. Packages include tickets to Igloofest or IMAX, valet parking or wine pairings (a glass or a bottle) from Arboleda wine.
