Ville-Émard

Departure point: Jolicoeur métro station

Distance: 3.8 kilometres

Places to enjoy your snack, meal or drink: Parc St-Paul, Parc de la Vérendrye

Yo&Co Espresso bar

5590 Laurendeau Street | website

I bet the day Yo&Co café opened, the old laundromat that used to be there instantly became a distant memory for the people of the neighbourhood. We love the décor, the windows that look out onto the street and, of course, the coffee, which is halfway between a third wave and an Italian roast and extra delish.

What to order: Whatever drink that quenches your thirst!

Seasoned Dreams

5509 Laurendeau Street | website

If you’re the type that likes a little spice in your life, you absolutely must stop by Seasoned Dreams, which gives place of pride to jerk seasoning. Whether you order the fried chicken or the famous mac’n’cheese with jerk chicken or the jerk poutine, your taste buds will be thrilled by delicious Caribbean flavours.

What to order: The jerk chicken – whatever way it’s served (salad, burgers, main dish, you name it)!

McKiernan

5524 Saint-Patrick Street #200 | website

The McKiernan luncheonette has been an absolute neighbourhood go-to ever since it opened in 2018. The quality and uniqueness of this eatery is spot-on, starting with the food served on your plate. This is another great way to try the exquisite eats from the quartet comprised of Joe Beef, Liverpool House, Vin Papillon and Maison Publique!

What to order: The muffuletta sandwich, the weekly pasta dish and a doughnut.

T&T Café

5544 Saint-Patrick Street | website

How does drinking a delicious third-wave coffee, snacking on a  banh-mi or slurping a bowl of Vietnamese vermicelli, all while playing a game of ping pong sound to you? This is the kind of experience patrons can delve into at T&T Café. During the summer season, try its homemade sorbet and a picnic box to go.

What to order: A café and a park-ready picnic basket

Avec le Temps – Confections gourmandes

5960 Monk Boulevard | website

You probably guessed it: we’re stopping by Avec le Temps for a snack of sweet and/or salty creations that range from baguettes to croissants, sandwiches to salads as well as ice cream treats, all made in house.

What to order: A freshly-baked viennoiserie or an ice cream.

CinqàSept

5980 Monk Boulevard | website

Before leaving for the park or your house, you absolutely have to stop by the CinqàSept gourmet boutique. Lovers of Québec beers, ciders and wines will find a winsome array of bottles and locavores will be smitten by the gourmet artisanal products from our lands. Be sure to browse the section dedicated entirely to Gaspésie seafood—the family of one of the owners are fishermen and owners of a fish shop over there. We love it!

What to order: Here is an excellent place to stock up on Québec beers and ciders as well as cheeses, charcuterie and other delectable Gaspésie products!
