The island of Montréal is your home port this summer!

After being cooped up for months, more than 600 artists are beyond excited to share nearly 450 performances spanning a wide range of disciplines with you.

From June 26 to September 26, check out impromptu or roving performances as you explore downtown Montréal. Music, dance, circus, theatre, live or digital visual arts – there’s so much to see and experience in the heart of the island!

Go see Les arts debout by La Résistance — it’s going to be hot!

Choreographers and dancers Lydia Bouchard (one of the judges on TVA’s Révolution) and Merryn Kritzinger are the dynamic duo behind La Résistance, an impressive and intrepid troupe whose performances draw us out of our comfort zone with their boundary-smashing brilliance.

The dozen or so dancers will be presenting Les arts debout, a genre mixer that features everything from contemporary dance to hip-hop in this celebration of the rebirth of the performing arts.

Dive into theme weekends and impromptu shows

What’s more Les aventures du cœur de l'île will feature four theme weekends so that everyone can catch even more entertainment in these public spaces.

The first weekend in July puts circus arts in the spotlight, with hundreds of original performances to choose from. The other themes will be unveiled soon, along with performance locations, pedestrian-friendly areas and entertainment zones.

Check out the brand-new Oasis zones

Soak up all of the festive entertainment at the Oasis zones as you scout the island’s discoveries. Starting June 21, the Quartier des spectacles and Montréal centre-ville are adding three new Oasis zones to this festive circuit.

Les aventures du cœur de l'île features 11 urban spaces that are all linked together by a pedestrian pathway. Enjoy an array of impromptu artistic shows in these open-air oases, six of which will offer a unique music ambiance thanks to Radio-Canada’s OHdio.

The Oasis zones have something for everyone, whether you feel like kicking back and relaxing, having a bite to eat or soaking up the island’s sweet summery vibe. Alcohol is allowed in all of them when consumed with a meal, except for the Oasis du Quartier latin. Simply scour the neighbourhood cafés, restaurants and other eateries for your al fresco feast and thirst-quenching drink, then sit down and revel in all the fun.

Why go globe-trotting when the island of Montréal offers so many exotic experiences? Drop anchor in the heart of the city for this all-inclusive entertainment package!

The program for Les aventures du cœur de l’île is a work in progress. Be sure to check out the or its Facebook  and Instagram pages for the latest news.

Les aventures du cœur de l’île is presented by the Quartier des spectacles Partnership and Montréal centre-ville in collaboration with Tourisme Montréal.
