2019 marks a century since Montréal’s first bus set out. Today, the city’s extensive bus network is a great way to travel around and explore.
In celebration of this landmark anniversary, the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) has put together 16 different itineraries, on 20 regular bus lines, that will take you through the city’s different neighbourhoods.
Some itineraries are text only, however few podcasts (in French only) highlight featured north-south and east-west lines: the 125 Ontario, the 24 Sherbrooke and the 55 Boulevard Saint-Laurent .
Sit back, relax and listen to interesting facts, stories and more as you learn about the history and evolution of these busy thoroughfares that criss-cross the city. Each itinerary showcases a different facet of Montréal. From prestigious mansions along Sherbrooke Street to bohemian cafés on Saint-Laurent Boulevard to Hochelaga-Maisonneuve’s tree-lined streets and distinctive architecture, you’ll see it all with these self-guided audio tours.
Experience everyday Montréal by bus, taking in the sights and sounds of different neighbourhoods that contribute to the city’s unique character.
