Let your imagination and emotions soar as you soak up the thrilling sounds of the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, under the leadership of musical director Kent Nagano. Founded in 1934, this acclaimed symphony orchestra continues to thrill audiences both here and abroad with some 100 concerts each year.

A global cultural ambassador, it has performed over 40 tours in places ranging from Paris to Nunavik and Carnegie Hall to China. Here at home, it performs principally in downtown’s acoustically exquisite Maison symphonique de Montréal, home to the Grand Orgue Pierre-Béique, or in Old Montréal’s beautiful Notre-Dame Basilica, with a special concert series in city parks come summer.

Since its inception and under the leadership of its celebrated present as well as past music directors—including Wilfrid Pelletier, Zubin Mehta, Franz-Paul Decker, and Charles Dutoit—the orchestra has continued to pursue its commitment to innovative and inspiring programming that not only celebrates the timeless classics but collaborations with many of today’s most popular artists and musicians. Its deep sense of community has also brought it closer to the people, sparking and strengthening a love of classical music among people of all backgrounds and ages.

The OSM’s 2019/2020 season promises to be as inspiring as ever with grand symphonic concerts, guest conductors and dazzling artists, music and film, pop collaborations, recitals, virtuoso organ concerts, chamber music, special concerts for kids and much more musical inspiration. Don’t miss it!
