Morgan Arboretum
Culture, arts and heritage Leisure activities Nature, fauna and flora Outdoor Airport and West Island
A 245 hectare forested reserve situated on the McGill University Macdonald Campus, the Morgan Arboretum hosts a variety of landscapes: mature forests, remnants of natural ecosystems, plantations and collection plantings of native and non-native trees species, and active and abandoned agricultural land. The 20 km network of trails includes a path (open in the summer and winter), two cross-country ski trails, and another designated for snowshoeing. The site is a prime location for numerous activities (consult website), including observing warblers, wood peckers, raptors, owls and the colourfully spectacular Scarlet Tanager and Indigo Bunting.
