The beating heart of the Quartier latin, the UQAM campus was designed to harmoniously integrate surrounding heritage buildings, including the neo-Gothic Saint-Jacques church bell tower as part of the Judith-Jasmin Pavilion and the former neoclassical École Polytechnique building, now the Athanase-David Pavilion.
In addition to classroom facilities, UQAM houses a contemporary art gallery (Galerie de l'UQAM, 1400 Berri St., local J-R120) and a design centre (Centre de design, 1440 Sanguinet St.) dedicated to showcasing design in its myriad forms: architectural, industrial, graphic, urban and fashion.
