Get inspired by our lists built around a theme, and experience Montréal to the hilt.
After years of transporting passengers underground, some of Montréal’s old MR-63 cars have rolled into Station F-MR, a public space dedicated to promoting Montréal’s rich culture and local talent along the Lachine Canal.
A throwback to 1960s Montréal, four blue and white cars have been transformed into an art gallery, a designer clothing boutique, a café and a studio. The multi-faceted site also includes a stage for outdoor performances and a rest area.
This community hub at the heart of Griffintown showcases a multidisciplinary cultural offering featuring local artistic, design and gastronomic talent. While events such as art exhibitions, film projections, creative workshops, concerts, shows and an outdoor market are planned, a large part of the programming is left open for the public to develop spontaneous activities in this happening summertime venue.
In collaboration with Parks Canada, Station F-MR is open from May to September at the Place des Bassins on the Lachine Canal National Historic Site, across from the Five Roses building. All aboard!
