Tucked within the heart of the basilica, the Museum of Saint-Joseph’s Oratory showcases countless sacred works of religious, historical and artistic heritage from Québec and abroad. The Museum’s internationally renowned collection of crèches treats visitors to a privileged glimpse of nativity scenes from around the world. The Museum Collection – The Crèches of Saint Joseph’s Oratory of Mount Royal permanent exhibition includes traditional representations as well as more surprising designs, such as a marionette theatre. Works by Québec artists make up an important part of the display. The second permanent exhibition A World in a Crèche features a hundred crèches and representations of the Nativity from many countries.
