Inaugurated in 1931 as the Harbor Bridge, this link between Longueuil and Montréal was renamed in 1934 in honour of Jacques Cartier, the French explorer and first European to describe and map the St. Lawrence River. The digital and interactive lighting of the bridge smoothly forms part of its structure and is in harmony with the colours of each season and the energy of the city.
