Galerie Connexe is not a gallery in the traditional sense; it is an outdoor art showcase and a convivial meeting place for Montrealers and visitors to imbibe the talent of some of Montréal’s leading and emerging artists and to interact with neighbourhood gallery owners.
Galerie Connexe, presented by the SDC - Les Quartiers du Canal, is a veritable extension of neighbouring art galleries. Featuring pieces from local artists using an array of techniques ranging from pencil to ink to acrylic, watercolour, oil, spray and photography, Galerie Connexe offers an outstanding display of public artwork in an ideal setting.
Perfectly situated in Parc des Meubliers on Notre-Dame Street West where Griffintown meets Little Burgundy, this free open-air exhibition weaves the link between the interior (the art galleries) and the outside (the park), not only to embellish the space, but to arouse the curiosity of those who discover the works and create interest in art.
For this second edition, the Galerie Connexe welcomes 13 artists selected by 5 art galleries as well as the Georges Vanier Cultural Center.
