Back in the day, storytelling existed throughout Quebec: in cities and rural areas alike, in homes, sitting around the fire in the evening, at school… It was a medium for transmitting stories, knowledge and legends. This era lasted until the early 20th century.
The 15th edition that was held in October 2019 offered a rich and diverse program for audiences of all ages: more than 60 artists from all over the world, 14 English events, 10 venues for the English events including downtown but also the West Island, Westmount, the Mile End and NDG, and a very first Battle of the Stories. The festival is held every two years.
