Old Port of Montréal
June 19 to 21, 2020: Fri, noon to 9 p.m.; Sat, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Sun, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Created in 2007, this annual contemporary Canadian art fair is a unique meeting ground for the greater public, enthusiasts and visual arts professionals alike. It’s a wonderful opportunity not only to see the latest from art galleries and professionals from across the country, but also to invest in world-class art at competitive prices.
For the first time in 2019, the fair will include mediums other than works on paper, giving visitors the chance to discover and appreciate an even wider range of contemporary art practices. The entry price enables you to walk freely throughout the space and see stunning art by the likes of textile artist Jeremy Laing at the 10 Years Ago booth, technicolour installation artist Sabrina Ratté at the Ellephant booth, photo manipulator Catherine Bolduc at the Galerie d’Este booth, and a ton more among the nearly 50 exhibition booths.
To get a pro handle on what you’re looking at, take one of the guided tours (presented a few times a day along different themes in English and French), and get even more insight at one of the panel discussions starring art-world luminaries along a slew of fascinating themes, including “The Presence of Digital Technologies in Contemporary Art.” Find all the details on the Papier website.
