The crowning glory of the MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE festival, Nuit blanche à Montréal is a cool, culture-crammed happening in the heart of February that’s a definite must on the city’s winter calendar.
Immersing yourself in this illuminating all-nighter gives you the chance to see the multitude facets of Montréal through city-wide nocturnal fun that includes over 200 mostly free activities. And there are so many different ways to approach it, from so many different neighbourhoods!
Join the hundreds of thousands of nighthawks as they dive into this arts and culture frenzy, which radiates out from the dazzling Place des Festivals, from nightfall until sunrise the next day. The Nuit blanche takes over three districts and one pole: Old Montréal and the Quays of the Old Port, the Quartier des Spectacles and the downtown core, the Plateau-Mont-Royal and Mile End, and the Pôle Maisonneuve. Montréal’s museums, art galleries, music venues and performance spaces fling their doors open to a magical nighttime adventure that includes lives performances, art, music, exhibitions, installations, film, design, DJ dance parties, dining and a multitude of other inspirations.
You can also head below ground to immerse yourself in the visual feast of Art Souterrain, when the “Underground City” reveals a cache of contemporary art projects, many happening live, along its busy, buzzy corridors.
To guarantee maximum fun and discovery, the participating districts will be linked by a shuttle service, meaning you can zoom around and catch everything your heart desires. Or you can easily hop on the métro, which will also be running all through the night.
