This free outdoor festival puts a spotlight on Portuguese language, culture and cuisine. Its festive program creates an intercultural space of exchange, discovery and sharing.
Very festive and diverse in music, the event welcomes some of the most appreciated and modern-day ambassadors of the Portuguese-speaking countries, from Montréal, Canada and around the globe. Sure to be also to your taste in flavours, the Festival displays an array of meals including the succulent grilled chicken. Kids can join the party thanks to diverse family activities and the very popular mascot, the Portuguese Rooster! There will be kiosks, exhibitions and even a soccer tournament to entertain you, your family and your friends!
On Sunday, don’t miss out the parade where spectators experience a colourful display of the true Portuguese heritage within the rhythms of traditional folklore music.
Everyone is welcome to join the big celebration. The most representative gathering of the Portuguese-speaking countries in Montréal! Viva!
Did you know: In Montréal, there are nearly 55,000 Portuguese. They are one of the 10 largest ethnic communities in the city. To honor their contribution to Montréal, Canada is recognizing the entire month of June as "Portugal's History and Heritage Month" (Portugal's national holiday is on June 10th).
