Confessions d'un enfant du siècle dernier

Festivals and events Montréal

Michel Tremblay's words resonate with today's youth in “Confessions d'un enfant du siècle dernier” (Confessions of a Child of the Last Century). This play, designed as a plural and fragmented monologue, explores the turmoil and excitement of adolescence. On stage, five performers give body and voice to the author's alter ego, the “fat woman's son,” as he discovers his desires and his uniqueness. The production, directed by Tremblay's long-time collaborator René Richard Cyr, features an original soundtrack by Ariane Moffatt. The show asks a universal question about the transition to adulthood: should we remain on the sidelines and dream, or dive headfirst into the world with everything that we are?
