See how it feels to have wings on your heels at Parc La Fontaine’s outdoor skating rink. Whether on a sunny afternoon or under the twinkling stars, skating on this outdoor pond is magical. The rink is a popular destination for rosy-cheeked gliders of all ages, from toddlers to teens to grandparents. Looking for a romantic activity with your lovebird? There’s nothing like this sweet spot to inspire tender moments.
Parc La Fontaine is a vast and picturesque green space in the city’s Plateau-Mont-Royal neighbourhood. Nestled in the heart of the park, the ice surface curves and stretches along a large tree-lined area. Come winter the trees are draped with sparkling fairy-lights, which makes the setting even more beautiful. But above all, the rink offers everyone from wobbly beginners to seasoned skaters a place to practice their craft at their own pace. And ice time is free of charge any hour of the day.
Don’t own a pair of skates? There’s an on-site rental shop that also offers skate sharpening services. Plus, if you need a break, you can pop up to the Espace La Fontaine restaurant for a delicious hot chocolate and a bite to eat.
Visit the winter conditions website before you go to check if the skating rink is open.
