Mount Royal Park is an iconic Montréal landmark, loved by locals and visitors from far and wide. Caring for this four-season natural playground is no small feat, yet for Les amis de la montagne, it is a labour of love.
Les amis de la montagne is a non-profit organization that promotes the sustainability of this urban green space through community involvement and environmental education. All revenue generated is reinvested into the park.
Les amis de la montagne offers a wide variety of services and activities. Cross-country ski classes, concerts, open-air theatre and guided bird-watching tours are just a few of the happenings that keep the mountain hopping all year long.
Beaver Lake Pavilion is the place to pick up a trail map or rent outdoor equipment, including ice skates, cross-country skis, snowshoes, snow tubes and more.
Guided discovery hikes and team-building conservation activities are extremely popular for groups looking to get outside and discover the beauty of Mount Royal at any time of year.
Rising from a citizen’s movement in the 1980s to halt construction of a telecommunications tower, this group of heritage and environmental conservationists have banded together to ensure the longevity and enjoyment of Mount Royal Park for years to come.
