The 42 gondolas are equipped with ultra-clear tempered glass panes, which allow visitors to observe the surrounding landscape in detail, while also protecting from UV rays. The attraction, which was inaugurated in 2017, is part of a series made in the Netherlands by Dutch Wheel, a renowned Ferris wheel manufacturer.
Wheel and meal
The wheel is clearly the big attraction. But there’s no need to ride and run. La Grande Roue de Montréal offers a juice bar, a café, a patio bar, and a bistro. You can choose from a creative selection of healthy salads and bowls, grilled sandwiches, burgers, pizzas, and tapas. Enjoy the wheel and then hangout for a meal. It’s the perfect date night activity, a fun option for lunch with a friend, or even the ideal backdrop to begin a bachelor or bachelorette party.
Lovers of luxury will want to reserve gondola number 42, the only observational wheel cabin equipped with four large seats (upholstered in Italian leather). And it’s not just the ultimate in comfort that makes visitors reserve this cabin — it’s also the thrill of it. The cabin has a glass floor, meaning the experience is even more scenic, more exhilarating. Plus, you'll get a 30-minute experience (instead of 20)!
