Where can you go for a dessert or snack break in Montréal?

Located on Saint-Denis Street in the heart of the Plateau-Mont-Royal, this restaurant and takeout counter is run by acclaimed chef Billy Galindo. Everything in this luminous, inviting space is made in-house, and the menu evolves daily to showcase seasonal produce from Québec. Treat yourself to a house-made dessert and a hot drink or iced tea, Tuesday to Friday from 1:30 p.m. Reservations recommended.

Just a little further down Saint-Denis Street, Le Club celebrates specialty coffee culture in a warm, cycling-themed space. Passeport MTL allows you to savour their locally roasted beans alongside a handcrafted pastry from some of Montréal’s best bakeries.

In the heart of Jean-Talon Market, this crêperie serves both savoury and sweet organic, gluten-free buckwheat crêpes. Seasonal, locally grown organic produce is given pride of place here. Founded in 2015, Le Petit Dep is both a café and gourmet grocery, known for its curated selection of specialty products from local producers. Indulge in their house-made Twix, a 100% local, gluten-free and vegan treat made with maple syrup, and best enjoyed with a cappuccino. This boutique in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve features a wide range of maple products, maple-scented pastries, and specialties from maple producers and local artisans. Passeport MTL lets you enjoy a one-hour tasting experience that includes a hot beverage, maple samples, and maple taffy on snow. A fixture in the Quartier Latin since 2006, Saint-Bock is both a craft brewery and a lively resto-bar known for its inviting ambiance. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a classic Québec poutine made with house fries, beer-infused gravy, and fresh cheese curds. Complete the experience with a personalized tasting flight of five beers brewed on site. Reservations recommended for groups of more than four.

Set along the Lachine Canal in Pointe-Saint-Charles, Brewpub Memento features two floors of playful design and a lively ambiance. Known for its flame-seared sushi, Château Maneki delights fans of Japanese cuisine with inventive dishes and beautifully presented tartares. Set in a former ice cream shop, the eye-catching pink-and-blue space charms with its retro flair. Where’s a good brunch or breakfast spot in Montréal?

Enjoy a continental breakfast for one, including a selection of breads and pastries, yogurt with granola, and seasonal fruit. Breakfast is served Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., while brunch is offered on weekends from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
