A fixture in the heart of the city for over 100 years, the McCord Stewart Museum sheds light on life in Montreal, both past and present. It bears witness to the history, vitality, creativity and diversity of the communities that make up the city. In keeping with its commitment to decolonization and sustainable development, it creates exhibitions and educational, cultural and community-engagement activities that look at social history and contemporary issues through a critical and inclusive lens. The Museum’s Archives, Documentary Art, Dress, Fashion and Textiles, Indigenous Cultures, Material Culture and Photography collections, containing 2.5 million images, objects, documents and works of art, position it as the custodian of a remarkable historical heritage and one of North America’s leading museums.

The museum is free for children 12 and under (maximum of 3 children per adult). 

The Museum also offers free admission to Indigenous Peoples—Inuit, Métis and First Nations. Presentation of a Status Card will be requested when available.

OASIS immersion offers a permanent, all-immersive 2,200 m2 (over 23,500 ft2) space located on the ground floor of the Palais des congrès de Montréal. The site is home to enthralling exhibitions inspired by the people, places and ideas that shape and galvanize our world, here and now.

Open 364 days a year, the Ecomuseum Zoo offers an escape into nature on the island of Montréal, only 25 minutes from downtown. Face to face with Québec wildlife, visitors will be able to have memorable encounters with, among others, the black bear, the Canada lynx, eagles, reptiles, amphibians and more.
