This exhibition presents Jeanne Mance from her native land, Langres (France), to the Parisian circles that will provide her the necessary support to leave for Ville-Marie in New-France and to establish the first hospital, the Hôtel-Dieu. She will administer the Hôtel-Dieu throughout her life. Jeanne Mance and Paul de Chomedey, sieur de Maisonneuve, founded Montréal on May 17, 1642.
